I'm not sure of your questions as the words don't make a lot of sense.... If you mean you loaned your credit card to someone and they screwed up your credit by borrowing with it then, no there isn't anything you can do. In 7 years it will vanish from your report.
If you mean someone took your credit card without your consent then yes you can do something to fix that.... First file a police report. Then send a copy of the police report to the credit agency contesting the bad credit and explaining what happened... also contact the credit card company and explain the card was taken and used without your consent. The upside is this should help you fix your credit the downside is the person that did it will be facing criminal charges. |

Just make sure you are paying off everything else on time. It takes 7 years for negative info to disappear form your credit report. It will get better with time. |

You can call the credit reporting companies and fax them a letter showing that the bill was paid in full and then keep calling them until it is taken off your report. Also, if you need a loan and the credit blemish is getting in your way, just show them proof that it was paid off. |

It's up to YOU to make sure the payments are being made on YOUR account, you don't rely even on family!!! No it will be on there seven years, but should show that it has been paid. If it doesn't, contact the compant and ask them to report to the credit agency that this debt has beeen paid! |

Dr Deth pretty much has it write. Its terrible that your credit has to suffer but you should never let anyone else use your credit. It will take time but It should definately be gone within 3-5 years. Just make sure nothing else like that happens.
Also if it went to the collection agency and you paid right away it may not have actually been put on your credit report |

Nothing that is accurate can be removed from your credit report except by time.
What you should have done was demand a payment for delete from the collection company before you paid them.
Since you did not, there is not much hope of them removing it now that they already have your money. |

The same thing happened to me. Contact the three credit reporting agencies to dispute it (I would call them), and they should take it off.
Here are the links to contact the three:
TransUnion
Experian
Equifax |

You will need to copy the receipt or check info that you got when you paid them off and write to the credit reporting people with this information and request that you have that collection mark removed. |

It is very difficult to get a ciritical mark on your credit erased, HOWEVER, as long as you keep paying everything else, and it shows as paid, you can keep getting your credit stronger. Good luck! |

You MIGHT be able to have it earased by contacting the bureaus AND the company that turned you in for collection. Was the debt in your family member's name too? Was it JUST in your name? You can start a dispute with each bureau. Transunion, Experian and Equifax. You can force the company that turned you in to prove it was your debt. That can be hard to do though and takes a lot of effort on your part. Also, if you paid the debt, it does not look as bad to creditors as you might thing. ALSO...you can have "notes" added to your file after items that are reported. You could explain in the "note" why this happened. As long as you pay something, it does not look as negative as it sounds. If the debt does not get removed right away it has to be removed after so many years. Seven or Ten is the magic number. I can't remember for sure. Always monitor your report and make sure things are taken off when their reporting time expires. |
