Yes most likely not a high limit. But as long as your are over 18, someone will give one to you.
Most likely you'll have to try a few companies but I have faith you'll eventually get there. |

If you are a full time college student, then yes you can get one. The CC Co's love to hand them out like candy, they want you in debt for many many years.
They will want you to list your yearly income on the application but what the heck, look at all those people who fudged their income on sub-prime loans, just to get a mortgage, now they have lost their homes.
List your true income and as long as your unemployment is only temporary, then you should be able to obtain a card.
Word of caution: You will be paying a high interest rate, so use the card wisely!!!! |

Why would you want to incur debt you can't repay?? You might end up with a terrible credit report which would prevent you from getting better credit cards or loans on down the road.
Be careful. With your situation, if you get a credit card, the interest rate will likely be very high, and there may be service charges all over the place. Use extreme caution! |

Sure! It won't necessarily be easy, but I managed to get a Capital One card with a $500 limit a few years ago while unemployed.
It all really depends upon your credit score... If you've got bad marks on your credit, it's going to be a lot harder.
Also, remember the risks of using credit cards... If you're unemployed, you can dig yourself in a big hole by abusing credit! |
