Yes my daughter was on working families tax credits and she got credit cards also she got a mortgage and a bank loan which she couldn't pay !! I think you would be daft having a credit card my daughters debts had to be consolidated into one loan which is gonna take her 5 years to pay off, she learnt the hard way ! my advice is to try and manage without credit. Oh and yes she lost her home as well she sold it and the solicitor didn't even charge her the fee cos he new she couldn't pay him ( Nice man :) )

Credit cards lead to debt I agree. AVOID as much as possible only if it's a life/death situation not for luxuries etc & only spend that you can afford to pay back in full in less than a month(before u get the really high interest rates). Believe me it's not worth it. But I have applied before on benefits & got accpeted. if you've paid all your bills b4 on time, have a bit of money in your account should be no problem. |

rihgt first one is capital one and vanquis they both cater for very low income
alsothere is another type where you top it up with your own money instead of getting into debt, you top up at the post office and its clear the next day, a good way of saving and its a mastercard so you can use it almost everywhere including the internet

ok firstly yes you can, i have had one. capital one.
secondly please don't do it, i know quite a few people on benefits with credit cards and they are now struggling to pay off debt's including myself. having been there done that i would strongly advise not to get one. the APR on these cards is phenominal if you spend £100 then you will be paying back at least £25 in interest thats a lot. |
