People get bad credit for a reason, remember that.

Totalled car? Bad credit from the past?

I know she is your friend, but you can have irresponsible friends too.

As for the credit, you may have trouble as you already have a finance deal and depending on your own income and credit rating and the fact that people are defaulting on credit agreements you may find it hard.

Dont let your friend infuence you. ;)

I can't see any reason why not, as long as your finances are healthy. It's pretty much like taking out a second loan while you've already got one, or a credit card when you already have a bagful !

I'm assuming you're not co-signing your friend's application - rather getting another agreement solely in your name?

If you can afford it, go for it!

Best wishes.

Don't do it this is very dangerous if she is even late or misses one payment you will get a strike on your credit record. Believe me it is not a good idea, if she has bad credit from the past she is obviously not that good at sticking to credit agreements.

DO NOT CO-SIGN FOR ANY ONE EVER EVER EVER

I don't know if you can.

But this will have an affect on your credit, meaning even though you are not paying it, it's still under your name.

no , it's unlikely...and why would you want to get her another car when she's totalled hers

hi, i run my own finance company and you would be liable for anything that happened, if she stopped paying, even a few payments this would affect your credit in the future. i have what they call sub-prime facilities for high risk lenders, but to ne honest they get you more into debt and i dont mind saying that.
it sounds like contract hire or lease car you have got, these are not great ideas unless you maybe run a business, the reason is the "return conditions", these can cost you a small fortune, they will expect the car back in perfect order, and damages, ware and tare will be billed to you.
yes you should be able to get credit again, as long as your credit is good, the problem you may have is some finance companies ask to see an insurance cover note, how will you do this if the car is for your freind?

Are you nuts? Never cosign for someone else's car!

If you sign that means you are completely liable for the car. If your friend loses her job or gets sick etc, you are on the hook for the payment. Also this will go on your credit report as a note that you owe. I would strongly suggest you not co-sign. It is a lose lose for you.
