i messed up | Can i get this loan through my credit union? |
I've been working at my job for a year and a half but i have no credit. At the same time, i don't have any financial obligations besides gas. I'm going to ask for 10k and the highest the credit union could possibly charge me is 9.75% interest rate. Over 72 months thats 184 dollars a month and 46 a week (i'm going to pay by the week through payroll deduction). If it matters i just turned 18 and i'm in college (all paid for through scholarship). Um so what are my odds of getting the loan through my credit union, not a bank

Your odds are much better through the credit union. IF they do provide you the loan, then you can start on the road of credit life.
The APR rates is typical of a credit union (especially for someone who has yet to establish credit) and because you are doing an auto pay method, they are most likely to grant the loan.
The larger banks would no doubt turn you down for that amount unless it was to purchase an automobile or some other form of collateral.
Stick with the credit unions, they are better and many have been around longer than most banks nowadays.

You are more likely to get approved at a credit union. However, you should really think about taking out a 6 year car loan. You will end up paying a lot more interest when you stretch out that loan for such a long period.
Either find a cheaper vehicle or consider a shorter term -- like 4 years. You might be surprised at how little your payment increases with a shorter term. |

You do not say what the 10k is for. The credit union will not give you a loan with knowing the purpose. |

credit unions are usually harder to get loans from. the no credit could possibly be an issue but then again it may not. i would give it a try you may get denied but dont get discouraged from it. there are plenty of other lenders out there with the same rates. |
