Yep. I have a better idea though. Sign up to paypal, and always pay through it. It means that the companies don't get your personal details so you won't wake up one day and find you entire account cleared out.

If its a Switch, Maestro or Solo card then usually yes. If it is literally just a cashpoint card then no. Check if it has any of the symbols on it, especially the Maestro one as more places accept Maestro than Solo. |

If it is purely a cashpoint card only for taking money out of an atm then no you can't. If it is a multi functional card icluding debit facilities then it can be used in the same way as a credit card. If it has a visa symbol or delta then it may be possible. |

cash cards are no good. |

Not a cash card, it needs to be a debit (eg. Solo, Visa Electron, Switch) or a credit card (Visa, Mastercard).
Cash cards just allow you to withdraw money from an ATM, credit and debit cards are the ones you hand over to cashiers in shops to pay for things. |
