Yeah, my Nana but a £10 through a shredder accidentally. If you can match all the pieces up and sellotape them to a piece of paper (just tack them down a bit, not stick them completely) then they should swap them for new ones. They replaced hers :)

Yes, they usually ask you to complete a simple form and change it on the spot.

so long as you have the serial numbers

well yeah sure i usually take ripped one dollar bills to the bank and exchange them for a new one. What they do is send to a factory and they retire the bill.

g4secs
Yes, it will be fine - try taping the bits together - the serial numbers are important. Kids eh? lol!

yes you can

Tina R
Yes you will be able to but only if all the pieces are there and all the numbers match up. The little monkey hope you weren't to hard on him. lol x

as long as you've got the bits with the numbers on its fine they'll just replace them

ANF
Yes yo can. They send it back to the Bank of England and check on the value of the bits and then pay you the same amount. I have done that with well washed notes that were just a bundle of papier mache' and they sent back all £10. The spoilt cash was in £1.00 notes.

Sal*UK
Yea sure - so long as the numbers are on the notes and can be read!

CJP
I think its ok as long as you have all the pieces. I think it would help if you stick them all together with tape.

I believe it is to do with the code and the queens head or something like that.

I live in Greece, and my dog chewed up some euro notes when she was a puppy, here you have to take the pieces into the national bank of greece, but in UK i think you can take them to any bank. It might tell you on your banks website.

nipnip
yes you can =]

Grace L
Its worth a go - im not sure if you can though

Yes I think you can...providing you have the serial numbers....if not, see if you can claim on your insurance..although it may not be worth it.....

I really doubt it. You could try cellotaping it together, but i doubt it will work. When ever have you had a note that was completely cellotaped in your wallet??

jimi

Yes. You will have to send them to the bank of England, and as long as their are two serial numbers for each note they will exchange them for you. Your local Bank will give you the neccesary forms.

Thumbs down tossers out again.
