Yes, you can use a debit card for online purchases. I do this quite a lot myself.
Be aware that, at your age and in the current financial climate, you may well get turned down for a credit card and that every application will have a negative impact on your credit score. I'd wait for the economy to stabalise a bit before applying if I were you.
I'd also ignore "First Time Pregnant" who obviously doesn't get the fact you're not an American! (rolls eyes) |

Your debit card will work online
unless the seller(s) does not accept it as a way of payment
but I'm sure most sellers do accept a debit card

As long as your debit card is a 'maestro or switch' then they will be accepted at most retailers online (including ebay) 'Visa Electron' is the only debit card I know of which people have problems with........this is a UK perspective though so if you live elsewhere you will prob not have heard of any of these... |

I'd go for the credit card option, as it's much safer than the debit card, although be careful what you spend, as bank charges can be exorbitant. |

Yes you can as long as it is Visa or Mastercard . Sometimes some of the others are not acceptable.
Go easy on the spending especially credit cards or you'll be in trouble in no time. Best stick to the Debit Card is my advice ;-)

No worries all sites now accept Debit Cards, many do in preference to Credit Cards.
The main difference is that with a credit card, you are spending money you do not have and yet with a Debit Card, they take it from your bank account.
Protect it and you will be fine.
Leave that Credit card behind my friend, it will temp you to spend what you do not have and then you will struggle to pay it back. It is far better, especially in this present climate to spend only what you earn.
