You can't put it directly on the credit card, but if the credit card has a cash advance limit then you can get cash from an ATM, put it in your bank, and then write a check for the deposit. You just have to find a credit card that will let you withdraw enough cash. I don't really recommend doing this, though. You are going to get yourself in a lot of debt, and the interest rates on credits cards are usually pretty high...particularly on cash advances. |

If you have got a credit card with a big enough limit for a house deposit, you should be able to get the money together for a house deposit in today's current situations! |

Technically, it is legally possible, provided that the other side is willing to accept a payment by this method.
At the very least it is unusual and will see a funds transfer from your card account immediately. If this is for a rental, you will have to insist that it is held in an authorised tenancy deposit scheme. If it is for a purchase, you need to watch your credit limit and also bear in mind that the payment is at risk if you do not go on to complete. |
