For online purchases you need to use either credit cards or debit cards which have expiration dates printed on them. ATM cards are for use at ATMs only to get cash. If you do not have a credit or debit card, visit your nearest bank to apply for one. There are many pre-paid debit cards available.You may want to visit http://www.visionprepaid.com. |

My kids have an ATM card with their custodial savings account.
I went to a store once and tried to use it as a debit. It worked.
Go to a gas station and buy a coke - see if yours works as a debit.

With an ATM card, no, but what you can do is create a paypal account, make sure you have your bank account and routing number information, and type it into Paypal with your information, and from then on your paypal account will be linked to your bank account and you will be able to make online purchases from anyone who accepts paypal. Once you register with paypal you can rewuest a paypal debit card which acts just like a regular ATM card, remmber that everything will be withdrawn from your bank account, so make sure that you write down anything that you purchase and know your balance because you'll have to pay back however much you went over. Other than that its a good deal, good luck. |

Sounds like you've only got a cash card, the kind that's linked to a savings account, right? You can't use those to shop on line. For that, you need a true debit card, one that's linked to a checking account and has either the Visa or Mastercard logo on it. |
