Bank of America, I believe has a 1% cash back card.
Their interest is high, but you are not going to carry balances because that lowers your credit worthiness and reduces the amount you can borrow in case you need a real loan.

The best bet is to make sure you choose a credit card with the lowest interest rate available. Next, don't charge anything that you cannot pay off the following month on time. In other words don't charge more than you earn. Use it mainly for emergencies only. Also pay on time. Don't be late as this will affect your credit score.And finally read all the small print.
