Certainly not provided it is your debt. If you use someone elses card without their permission then yes you could go for fraud. If you cannot pay the bill life without credit shall be difficult but you will not lose your total freedom for it. |

No. The worst thing they can do (in most places) is get a court order to garnish your wages. If you're in that much trouble you should get debt councelling or consider bankruptcy. |

No. There are far more effective ways of ruining you, mainly by wrecking your credit. You will pay far more this way than whatever the original credit card debt was.
The are no debtors' prisons.
I once asked the IRS if I could simply go to jail instead of having to pay back tax, and they laughed themselves silly. |

The answer is yes,but it depends on where you live as the laws are different in all countries.It also depends on the circumstances,i know that in the states their laws are very strong about this mainly because it is more often seen.In some countries it is called plain theft & the punishment is a very long prison sentence &/or death.The instance i was talking about is for example;one is terminally ill & then the punishment would not be so intense,but if you co-operate with the authorities & are willing to re-pay the money then a probation order may be put into place,this is why it all depends on where you live.Good luck if you are in big trouble. |

No. The lenders can harass you but it is unsecured credit. If you are in over your head, tell the lender and they will usually work with you because if you file for bankruptcy your debts to them may be wiped out and they don't want that and neither do you so they will usually work with you in a pinch. |
