I get these emails about claiming free gift cards if I participate in some offers. If I participate in the offers, would I really receive the gift card? Has anyone ever gotten one? |

I have filled out several offers for free gift cards to places like Wal-mart, Kmart, Applebees etc.. Once I participate(read: buy something) and try to complete the last page for the "free" gift card, it states there has been as error of some sort OR they just won't send the card. Of course the offer you had to pay for to get to the free card ALWAYS works and you get charged for that item/service.
I remember one offer, I had to sign up for at least one thing, So I chose to get CDs from BMG music and after I filled in all the needed info and went to the last page of the "survey" It failed to complete as usual.
I E-mailed bmg and told them what happened and if they couldn't get the company to send me the free gift card, I didn't want their product. BMG E-mailed me back that they don't sponsor that "survey" and I was responsible for what I signed up for.. Needless to say I returned everything they sent me without even opening it and didn't pay any bills bmg sent.
To sum it up: they are full of c rap and a waste of time |

The only companies I deal with are ones I have had good service in the past, and are reliable and trustworthy. For example, Max & Erma's will give you a free gift card if you purchase a $100 in gift cards. Do NOT deal with anyone that you do not know--you could get yourself into a heep of trouble. |

they are scams.they keep having you answer questions,tell you that your almost done and an hour later they tell you you have to join or buy movies,etc.to get them and at this point they have your info.so when you cancel out the so-called survey.its too late they got your info.even wal-mart is doing it.the company that wont sell certain toys ,musical Cd's.but yet will scam you all day.they are the worst.of them all. |

they are scams, you have to participate in some offers, which cost you a monthly fee. youd be better off just buying yourself a giftcard than giving out your details on a scam like that. |

There are "free" gift cards out there. I have never followed one of the emails but I have successfully done an offer by Netblue in Mountain View CA.
I did an XBox offer which netted me a $530 check. I put in $50, spent about 2 hours doing offers and following up, and spent about 5-6 hours reading fine print. My records were immaculate. I can probably do another offer now and only have to spend 2-3 hours total. It took a very long time too; I started in the beginning of August and only got the check this week.
It wasn't easy. There are all kinds of things built into the process to trip you up (like you have to use your own credit card, if you're not the owner of the account you won't get credit). If you miss anything you will have spend your time and money but get nothing in return.
Research the company making the offer first. If they seem ligit read everything very carefully, take screen shots of everything, and make sure you are 110% on top of everything in the fine print. If you can do that you can a good return on your time and money but it is slightly less than free. |
