Ok, here's the deal. I approve and/or deny credit applications and credit line increases on a daily basis. I know firsthand on what you're going through. I have some advice that I think wil help.
First, stop applying everywhere. Each time you apply, even if you're approved or not, it lowers your credit score. If you applied twice and got denied, chances are the 3rd time's not going to be the charm.
You should open a bank account if you don't have one already. This does a couple of things. It gets you that much closer to a credit card from the bank since you already would be a customer, and it allows you to pay it on time, especially with online billpay. A lot of major banks (Bank of America, Wells Fargo, USBank) offer what's called secured cards, which work like regular credit cards, only you put up money that's used as collateral to establish a credit line. For example, if you deposit $200, your credit limit's $200, and so on. This is the easiest kind of card to get. It may suck that you have to put up a deposit first to establish credit, but at least you can get it back later on once you prove you can pay on time. Also, the deposit can double as an emergency fund, so it's like saving money while you're building credit. I had one when I was started my freshman year in college, and I got a regular card the following spring break, so I know it works.
I posted several links to some cards, Bank of America has the best overall secured card based on my personal experience. |

stop filling out applications......everytime someone pulls your credit report, it lowers your credit score. So each failed application is making it that much harder to get approved. What you should do is go to your bank, and set up a checking account, and get a debt card, you can use that as a credit card until your credit score rebounds from the bazillion people pulling your score. After a few months start by getting a store credit card like a "Best Buy" or "Sears" or something like that, buy a few things with then pay it off. After a while of doing that you should have no problems getting a "real" credit card. |

Let's see - you are barely old enough to get credit. (strike 1)
You didn't mention whether you have a job. (strike 2)
You filled out a zillion credit applications (each lowers your already new - which equals low - credit score) (strike 3)
To GET credit, you have to EARN credit.
1) Get a bank account in your own name.
2) Get a JOB. One that has reported income, not where someone pays you cash. You need to document income in legitimate pay stubs. A legitimate paystub shows that you paid taxes, for example. Even McDonalds or Starbucks -- but a regular paycheck.
3) Apply for a secured credit card. You deposit some money into their account, and they hold it as security. The deposit is NOT used to pay the monthly charge, it's a deposit.
Each month, pay off the balance on the secured credit card. Don't touch the deposit balance.
After just a few months of having a clean record of on-time payments, the credit offers will come flying in. |

Graduated from high school or turned 18 years old does not automatically qulaify you for a credit card. Do you have a job? You will need to have steady employment and income. Since you don't have any credit before, you might want to try your own bank first. So open a checking account first and wait for at least 6 months, and do keep good status with your checking account. Good luck! |

American Blue Express Credit Card: Apart from no annual fee feature of the American Blue Express it also gives cash returns on specific purchases. Users of the American Blue Express also enjoy protection against fraud for online credit card transactions. This card tries to right the various wrong notions about the American Express credit cards, one of which is that it is a credit card only for rich or those who have money to keep a credit card.

Do you have a job? If you have no income, that might be part of the problem. You might need to get one of those cards where you piggy-back off of your parents' credit. Or start out opening a bank account with a debit card, so that the credit companies see you can handle money. |

Try getting a card issued by one of the fuel companies like Mobil or Marathon. Be very diligent about paying it every month on-time. After you've had that for a while, 6 - 12 months, and its been in good standing try applying for other cards. When you get your first Visa or Mastercard you won't be able to get a card with a high credit limit, that will take time to build. Something else you might try, if you really need a Visa or Mastercard, is get the checking/credit card that issued through your bank on your bank account. |
