Capital One vs. Bank of America?
I am 21 and trying to establish credit. I have 3 department store credit cards that I use and always pay them on time and keep them at a balance that if something was to happen I can pay it off in one pop. I want to get a credit card where I can use it anywhere and not at just one store so maybe it can help me out some more. I recieve offers alot from Capital One and Bank of America which one is the best?????

No credit card company is worth your trouble...Credit is evil--it sucks you in and before you know it, you are barely able to pay interest payments DON'T DO IT!!! (I used to work for one of those companies you mentioned, so I know)

If you want to use a card that works anywhere, get a debit card from your bank. This way, you are paying off everything as you go, but still have the convenience of using a card. If you 'HAVE" to get a credit card just because, look for a local credit union that offers credit...they are much easier with the terms.

Warning about mainstream credit cards--EVERY credit card company retains the right to CHANGE your terms for any reason--even if you're never late and never overlimit. DO NOT get a variable rate--this means it changes with the prime rate on wall street--it changes often. They also have over 30 payment allocation methods (all in their favor to have you pay interest instead of the principal amount you owe) so be careful.

I have a credit union credit card that did not specify in their terms that they can change whenever they want, which is why I'm still with them. I have cut up and paid off all the other cards since.

Without knowing what terms they are offering you, nobody can say "which is the best". They both offer the same piece of plastic, that you slide through a automatic payment terminal...with a pre-determined balance. "Which one is best" comes down to which one offers you the best terms.

Probably 6 of one half dozen of the other. Be sure to read thru all the fine print. Make sure you don't have an annual fee. Cash reward cards are always a great idea.

For starters, pay off all those store credit cards completely. Don't carry any balances. The interest rates are probably in the 30% range. Don't waste money on that kind of interest.

It is always best to only charge what you can afford to pay in full each month. Let the credit cards work for you instead of you working for them.

From the information you've provided, you should have a good established credit history. If I were you, I would never fall for offers sent to you. You should research and find your own card. There are many more companies than just Capital One and Bank of America. If you want a good resourceful site, check out the one below. You can find cards from all major banks. To tell you the truth, it doesn't matter where you get the credit card from. What is more important is what types of benefits you receive. Make sure to apply for a card that you can get approved for. Don't go for cards that require Excellent credit since you are relatively new to this game. Best part is that you can apply online and get a decision instantly. Good luck!

They are both okay but, check what the interest rates are gonna be and be aware that you can bargain to get lower rates....play them against eachother...they always will come down. One other thing, ask if they outsource their calls to customer service to other countries, there is nothing more frustrating than trying to get help with your account when the person on the other end of the phone is in India and you can't understand them....good luck...one more thing, try to pay it off when you get the bill...sounds like you are on the right track but those cards can really lead to trouble...

Capital One is far easier to get. Even when you get a letter in the mail for a credit card doesn't mean you're preapproved. I got a Capital One card when my credit wasn't the best. I was then able to improve my credit along with the Orchard Bank card I had.

Neither is better than the other. Both are blood sucking vampires. They each have strict and ever-changing rules that are designed to suck more cash from your pockets.

Be sure to read the rights or rules for each card. You don't want them selling your info to marketers. See how they establish the interest. Look at the grace periods. For the most part, they are all the same....not dishonest but hardly ethical.

I think capital one is better!
For its APR is lower....
Here is a capital one credit cards list

They're both crooks! Try to become a member of a credit uinion. They are harder to join, but they're interest rates are WAY LOWER!

I'm a Genius
Cap One, but Im biased
