it can help you build your credit, but be sure to read the 'fine print' for all the charges that you incur if you accept a card from them.

I have capital one, so far so good.

Just fallow these guide lines and it will lead you to a better credit score. It just takes time and responsibility. Also I would get a free credit report at freecreditreport.com they give a summary of what your credit score means and how you can bring it up.

What factors raise your Score:
You've paid your bills on time and currently do not have any overdue accounts or derogatory information, such as a collection, charge-off, or bankruptcy, on your report. You can be proud of the fact that you are helping yourself maintain a good credit score, so continue with the positive credit behavior!

You have no open installment loans, such as auto loans, on your credit report. This positively influences your credit score because lenders feel you are more likely to pay your other bills without the fixed monthly payment attached to an installment loan.

Your credit report does not contain negative public records, such as a bankruptcy, lien, lawsuit or judgment filed within the last two years. This is having a positive impact on your credit score. Although public record items may remain on your credit report for seven to 15 years, depending on the item, an important piece of your credit history is paying your bills on time, every time.

I have a cap one card that I rarely use. I have no complaints about them, I have a better interest rate on a different card. Any credit card can help you build your credit score as long as you pay on time and don't go over your limit.

They are good, they gave me one of my first credit cards, only thing is they charge a yearly fee of $29.00, at least they do to me, none of my other cards charge a yearly fee.

Capital One can be as good as any. I've had a couple of different Cap.One cards for years with no major complaints. The credit limit and interest rate you get will depend on your credit rating.

Some may find this annoying, but I like it. If for some reason my payment isn't there by a week after the due date, I usually get a call from them as a reminder. I can make the payment by phone, pay online, or send a check, but my payment is there before I am 30 days past due and gets reported to the credit bureaus.

I just got a capital one card with a 0 percent interest rate until october, which is pretty nice. I've had them before and never really had any problems, their call center people are very friendly and helpful. Any credit card that's used properly will help you build credit. It's not relevant, but my car is financed through Capital One as well and it has been a really good experience. I would say that they are one of the better credit companies out there.

SugarDaddy
we have a Capital One credit card...no problems...no annual fee...

Shirrwood
It's good. Though it will help you build your credit history only if you pay your bills on time. I mean all your bills. But don't wait your credit score would increase in short time. It is long process, you should prove your creditworthiness.

I have had their card for 8 years. I pay off my balances and they have raised by limit many times from $500 on up to $4,000. I use it for work and get reimbursed so I basically just use it for the points. I have never paid an annual fee.

I would avoid Capital One. They are really quite miserable with first-timers. I had my first credit card, had never missed a payment, and had the card for over a year. Despite my great credit score they refused to raise my limit (from a whopping $500) and actually raised my interest rate. I got a card with a limit several times higher with a WAY lower interest rate from Citibank. Get the MTVU Card from Citi, it's got great points, low interest, and is awesome for students.
