Catalogue debt?
Does anyone know if it is possible to transfer catalogue debts into someone elses name? I have a customer who has ordered quite a lot of things from my catalogue and now can't afford to pay and all the bills fall on me is there anything else that I could do other than me paying the debt off my self? thank you

The question of whether you can take the goods back depends on the nature of the agreement. If there is a clause there about goods remaining the property of the seller until paid for then the owner of the goods (i.e. the catalogue people) could take the goods back.

They could appoint you as their agent to do so but there are risks - take a policemen with you.

If it is straightforward credit then the goods belong to the buyer and the credit provider (which is not necessarily the supplier of the goods) has to pursue the debt.

In either case it should not really be your problem. If the catalogue company tries to make it your problem then ditch them and go with someone fairer.

Take the stuff back and sell it. The credit charges on catalogues are horrific!

Just report the person to the catalogue and they will take it off your hands and deal with it themselves

First get the gear back from this customer, why should they have goods they ain't paid for.

Then ask your catalogue what they suggest you should do about this, be honest with the catalogue people they probably have this thing happen a lot.

this happened to my mum you need to ring the catalogue and give them the details of the person and they will get in contact with them and as long as they admit the stuff is is what they ordered the catalogue Will then deduct it from your bill good look hope you sort it out

shaun
give the details to the company that you have the catalogue with and they will chase the debt from the person
