I personally suggest you look for no annual fee cards as well as cards with benefits. There are cards that cover rental car insurance, when travelling you can skip ahead of the ticket line etc. Low interest ones, usually comes with a fee. |

capital one is a good credit card company to be with. you want to find one with no fees (participation, maintenance, etc.) and a low apr. read the fine print though look to see what the payment schedule is because you don't want to charge $500 on the card and have to pay interest on it twice because the schedule says every 60 days!! that's how i got caught. once you begin an account, DO NOT close it. keep a zero balance, but keep the account open. if you close it it will increase your debt to income ratio, therefore reducing your score. |

Make sure you read the fine print on the offers very carefully.
Capital One does NOT report your limit on your credit reports. Instead they report your high balance, which makes it look as if you're maxed out on your account. |

Discover card is one of the best they actually give you cash back bonuses when you buy gas or other selected items money you can put in you pocket each time you reach 20.00 dollars or use it to pay the bill. I recently earned 40.00 dollars cash. I love it. and they have no annual fee and a low intrest rate and I got a high credt limit |

When choosing a credit card, look at two main things:
APR and annual fee
You want zero annual fee and the lowest APR. Preferably 0% APR for at least 12 months on purchases and balance transfers. Rewards mean very little. As you'll need to spend thousands upon thousands to earn anything.
If you find a card with 0% APR for 12 months, you can make purchases the whole time, carry a balance, and pay no interest for the entire 12 months. (so long as you always pay your minimum payment on time).
Once those 12 months are up you will begin paying interest, but that's the perfect time to do a balance transfer, and send the balance to another card with 0% APR.

You should compare the interest rates, the credit worthiness requirements, the grace periods, the minimum credit limit, the rewards, the included benefits like insurance or discounts, the card design...But you should definitely get a $0 annual fee card. Why pay an extra $50 a year for nothing? Also normally there are no transaction fees for making regular payments. There will be fees if you go over your limit, of make a late payment. |
