Mr. Nice Guy
Co-signer is paying, how to make it last?
A few months back I got someone to be a cosigner for my new car, but my girlfriend and friends are high maintenance and I don’t have the extra money for the car’s monthly payments and I stopped paying; of course the cosigner is making the payments every month not to damage his/her credit history. Because he/she is in the title and registration of the car he/she is threating me with a lawyer to take the car away , but I do not believe it and my friends either, they told me I am untouchable and I want to keep the car and I want the cosigner to keep making the payments. How can I make it last?
Additional Details
I have not gotten the answer I am looking for and I am not asking what the right thing to do is. To me is right what I am doing, and my friends think I am cool doing it. And yes, it is for real and this is no joke.

You better hope your co-signer keeps making the payments, or the bank will reposses the car and you will BOTH be liable for the balance.

As for legal action, they can go to court and attempt to obtain a "Writ of Possession" since they are on the title as well. If you are making enough income to make payments, and you simply don't because you spend your money foolishly, don't be surprised if the court grants your co-signer possession of the vehicle.

Keep in mind that while this may seem an "ideal" situation to you, repossessions stay on your credit for up to 7 years, not too mention the damage to your credit as it is. Short-term fun vs long-term pain - you make the choice.

I am not an attorney but I am in a similar situation with an as***e like you. The co-signer is lucky to be in the title/registration of the vehicle, he can sue you for fraud and breach of contract. You will lose the car and your reputation since you will be in court and really your attitude does not match your screen name.

Your name here sure doesn't match your attitude. It would be fair if the cosigner sued you and took your car, since you stuck that person with the payments. They were foolish to cosign for you in the first place.

I hope that your screen name, and your question, is just a joke. Not real funny though.

You're going to lose the car. And without the car, you'll probably lose your girlfriend and friends. So you end up with nothing.

Or you can ditch the b**ch, make the car payments, and end up with a car and a better friend (the one who actually stuck their credit on the line for you).

Decisions, decisions.

What! Well, in my opinion, its terrible for you to want the co-signer to keep paying your bills. Take responsiblity for you own stuff!

APF
you are a good reason Friends, kin or anybody should not co-sign.

Of course you haven't gotten the answer you are looking for. Life doesn't work that way. If your friends think it is cool that you are trying to steal the money for your car payments it is time you made some friends older than 10.

luciousgreeneyedlady
Your just using this person. I hope he does sue you. you deserve it.

NAYNAY
WOW you are a piece of work!!!!
the only way i see for you to keep this up is to sleep with the cosighner and hope they are super stupid>>>> he/she is on the title witch means if they are paying they OWN the car not you and they can take it... your best bet is to have a terrible crash(dont forget to remove the seat beat first) and collect insurance money!!!!

MS.B
You should be ashamed of yourself. Its people like you who mess it up for the honest human beings, who really need a co-signer, and would honestly pay back their bills on time. It makes me sick! Always remember what goes around comes around.

Of course you're not getting the answer you want. There's a difference between want and need. You need to have your head examined for pulling such a crappy thing on anybody. It's people like you that scare credit company into driving the finance rates thru the roof. Also, I want to report someone like you and have them make you pay your end of the bargain. You're immature and you need to taught a lesson. I won't wish you good luck..
