who said that my card is being used illegally. Loads of high money transactions in the past 3 days. How do these people get hold of my details. I do not use it very often and only for payment in a shop on rare occasions. I did use it on ebay but it was paypal and the payment went to a well known company.
Additional Details
They have cancelled my card and realised straight away that there was no way I could have made the transactions. It was flaged up on their system by the end of the first day. Good system. |

I suggest that you go through your recent statements to identify when and where you used your card, by phone, online or by passing over your card. I further suggest that you meet a representative of the credit card company.
The credit card company might need to be convinced that you have not been careless or fraudulently claiming that you did not use the cards on the relevant occasions. However, they should be willing to discuss the matter with you.
Have you asked the credit card company to cancel your credit card and to issue a new one or to change your credit card number? |

Anywhere you use a credit card, there's always a way to get a copy of that and sell it. If you still violated, you can put it on fraud alert through Trans Union Fraud Dept. Their toll free # 1-800-680-7289. They'll notify the other 2 bureaus and must be renewed every 90 days in order to keep it active. You should also run your yearly free credit reports. For online, go to annualcreditreport.com or by mail, call Trans Union toll free @ 1-877-322-8228 for all 3 free reports. If there is something you're not aware of, dispute it immediately. |

Criminals who carry out credit card fraud know what they're doing. Your card could have been cloned by any number of means. As long as your cc company know it's a fraud you shouldn't be out any money, these criminals are clever at finding people's details it's probably nothing you did wrong it's most likely your card was cloned. |

I had the same done to me a few weeks ago, luckly I was refunded, since then I had a new card and went and about some decent security software instead of free ones. |
