Don't apply for just any card you must apply for the no/new credit cards. =

There are a number of ways you can establish credit.

The first way I would attempt is to ask the bank for a small loan -- one which is easily covered by your bank account balance. Perhaps $500 to $1000.

Make payments on this loan every month and never let a payment date pass without making at least the minimum payment. Once you have paid this loan off, you will be in a good position to request a credit card from your bank.

If the bank does not want to issue you a loan or credit card, you can go the secured card route. Check out this link for great info on how to get and use a secured card.
http://www.creditave.com/credit-cards/secured-credit-cards-what-you-should-know.html

Remember that when you sign up for this card, it will have an impact on your credit score immediately. Make it count by purchasing essential items on a monthly basis and paying the balance off in full every month.

Do not buy anything with your new credit card that you want but do not need. Doing so will spiral you into debt rather quickly.

Here are a few more links to educate yourself a bit more about the finer points of using a credit card to establish good credit.

Applying for multiple credit cards hurts your score, so give it a break for awhile. Look into a secured card to improve your score. Secured cards usually require you to have an account with a certain amount of money in it, and they'll give you a credit limit equal to what's in the account. That way, it's certain you can afford to pay it back.

you can establish credit if you can get a co-signner or become an authorized buyer on someone elses card.

Get a co-signer. Getting established is hard. At the bank I work at we will give almost anyone under 24 who is enrolled in college a credit card. Check your local bank for something like that.

I understand how frustrating this can be. I had the same problem when trying to get a loan for a car. I kept getting that I had lack of credit and I needed someone to cosign for me. Well that wasnt going to happen. I found a company that I signed up with. Its a debit card and they report my payments to the credit bureaus which in return builds and helped me establish credit. Im so happy with them. Heres there link http://debit-card-guide.com/creditbuilder_debit_cards.htm . I know they can help you as well!!

Get a "Secured Credit Card".

A secured credit card is where you pay a bank an amount of money, say $500 and receive a credit card with a $500 limit on it. You use the credit card in exactly the same way as any other credit card and make regular monthly payments to pay off any money that you spend using the card.

If you use your secured credit card often and make regular payments then you will build a thread of good credit history. After a year or so you can apply for other credit, such as a non-secured credit card. If you manage this properly too then you are well on the way to establishing good credit. But remember that you must avoid penalties for late payment.
