Okay so I am trying to get my first credit card... I want to build up good credit considering I currently have NO credit...
My problem is that I have applied for a couple of credit cards and got turned down because I do not have ANY credit history. So my problem is that I want to build up my credit but to get some credit cards you must have past credit history which I don't have...

Did you check with your bank first? You may have to get a secured card to start -- you put up a deposit which is used as collateral for your credit limit. After 6 months of using and paying on time, you can apply for a regular credit card. |

Just buy a prepaid card, and use it for the rest of your life. You really do not want anything to do with credit card companies, as most of them are thieves. |

You can't get both. If you want to get credit, go to your credit union (if you don't have one join one) and ask for a loan based on your savings. This is the cheapest way to get a loan, as you are basically paying them about 1% over your intrest that you are eanring on the account. This will show up on your report.
In about 3 to six months, after you have been paying, it will show that you have a credit record. |
