Credit Cards, Which one should i get?
I am 19 years old and i want to start building my credit. I moved out when i was 16, but come to realize i cannot get anything without paying cash b/c i do not have any credit. I would like to get a credit card that i could use to pay my rent, and in return pay off at the end of every month. ( i do not play on spending more money than comes on my check, i just want to use a credit card so i can pay it off, and build credit.) I have no clue what i need to get, % rates or anything like that, i just want something to build credit. Any ideas for a card? any help is appreciated =]

I do go throught a bank, and have a debit card, but i didnt know that would build me credit.

It is hard to build credit. Not everyone will give you credit unless you give them money first. If you pay it off every month don't worry about the interest rates.

I recommend getting a JC penneys card. Its pretty easy to get one. They pretty much approve anyone that has no credit or shows that they are trying to improve their credit. Plus there is no annual fee.

Look for a card that has no annual fee and no stupid other fees.

It hurts your credit (even if you don't have any) to apply for credit more then once a month. So just go get a penneys card and wait awhile then look

for something with no annual fees or no stupid other fees.
As your credit builds you will get preapproved offers in the mail

I don't remember but Capital one might have been my first card. If it wasn't, it was one of the first.

I was just like you paying it off every month. I was very responsible but then I started dating. My boyfriend at the time talked me into not paying it off everymonth. Don't let the opposite sex talk you into anything stupid!!!!! It is not a good habit to get into.

Anything without an annual fee would be fine. Just be sure to pay the balance in full every month.

WOW! There are alot of options here for you. Ill do my best to help. First off, getting a credit card is the single best way to build credit and is perfectly fine to use to pay your rent. You want a low APR around 10-12% this is just the amount you are charged if you make late payments. Look for rewards such as cashback and no annual fee is great as well. Whatever you decide to do use applyfastbankcards.com, they PAY YOU their commission when you apply for a credit card, any card! I got $90 when I got my Discover card. Good luck:)

there are two ways you could start credit one or them is taking out a small personal loan which you might need a parent or an adult to co-sign for you meaning if you do not pay the loan they will. Or you could apply for a credit card for bad or no credit which most likely will get you approved no matter what, but if you are a student you could get a student credit card which will offer you lower rates and no annual fees, check out www.fastcreditcardapprovals.com and go under bad or no credit or student cards. good luck

I am also 19 years old and my first credit card was Capital One. it is a great card for the first couple of months you pay no APR interest rate which is great and I was working a low income job. it really is a great company to start a good credit with and after a couple of months they increase how much you can spend big plus for me.

Apply for a credit card with low APR, no annual fees. If you are a student, l would recommend applying for a student credit card. http://bestcreditcardratings.com/student-credit-cards/

A credit card to pay your rent? don't think so. through your checking account you can apply for a Debit Card with a Visa or Master Card logo, since the money is in your checking account you will have access through this c.c. The other way you can build your credit is applying for a Department Store Credit Card like Target, Kohl's, Macy's,

etc. if you are approved you will have a credit limit of less than $1,000.00 pay your balance on time, pay more than the minimum. The interest rates of the c.c. right now are very high
Dept. Stores 22..99% interest a year, visa, mc, discover between 8.9 to 16% a year. Good luck.

First get a bank account.
2nd get a credit card that will offer rewards such as cash back or certificates.
3rd make sure to pay it off in full every month.

meme123
You should start off with a special kind of card that is more like a debit card. You preload the card with the cash up front, but it still builds your credit like a credit card.
