How can i get a presidents choice financial mastercard at 13 years old? I'm very responsible and I hate being in debt, the only reason I want a credit card is because some things that you buy online must be bought with a credit card. I would preferably register for it online.
ps -- I understand that I need a co-signer

I thought that if your under 18 you can get a parent of guardian to co-sign and they are responsible for money that you can't pay back, am I wrong? |

You will never get a credit card at 13 years old. You have to be 18. A minor cannot enter in to such a contract.
Edit: Yes, you heard wrong. You may need a co-signer for a loan if you have bad credit.
Most debit cards are backed by Visa etc. I'vee bought many things online with mine.
I wouldn't be so picky about a specific brand/type card. I'd take whatever I can get if I were you.
Honestly a 13 year old does not have enough responsibility to have a credit card. No matter how good you say you'll be. |

Online buying may be just for a single thing first when you use a credit card..
But its like a temptation and without your knowledge.. you ll start swiping it online for more and more stuff...
Id suggest you stay out of it may be forever..

You might wanna try one of those visa debit cards (not sure bout the availability in your hood). You only use up money from your normal transaction account and there is no interest but there is usually an annual account fee. And you can use it anywhere where visa is accepted including online purchasing. But Even for that you have to be 15 or over (at least in NZ).
Other option would be online banking. This should be possible if your buying withing your country. you'll need to obtain the shop/person... bank account number and transfer money via online banking form your account to theirs. |

Do not get a credit card.. they are allot more complex than you think..... get a debit card with either you mom or dad so you will be using your money not somebody Else's... NO INTEREST |

a credit card at your age means your folks are not doing right by you. no matter that you feel responsible enough. the habit of using credit is a poor lesson. credit is like dope . credit is habit forming and addictive.don't let materialism be your goal in life. if there is some article that requires the use of a credit card your folks can let you use their card. don't become a credit junkie. |

Sorry... but for a real credit card you will have to wait until you are 18.
You will need income from a job.
In the meantime use a prepaid Visa or MasterCard to purchase items online. |

i have heard of visa gift cards which are like credit cards. People have told me that they bought things online with them. Any age can have visa gift cards but i am not sure where to get them. Probably at a gas station. |

When I was 16 I got a "Barclaycard" (MasterCard and Visa) with my parents co-signing the contract.
If you want a debit credit-card you need an bank-account somewhere... They'll check that account in advance. So your bank will call you and ask if that's okay. If your parents are willing to co-sign you're likely to get a credit span of at least 500USD.
In any case you need the support of your parents. So rattle on at them. |

NO 13 year old needs a credit card period the end unless a parent is present when you want to order and approve where ever and for what ever you are buying. You are a kid and the prefer to register online means you know you are in outer space on this one. |
