I'm presuming that the balance is not within the grace period allowed by your bank.
The 314.00 balance is what is owed after your last payment was posted to your account. You will still have to pay interest on the 314.00 balance. When they receive your payment, let's say 314.00, not all of they amount will go to the balance. Some of that will be retained as interest. Now, you can't pay interest on top of interest for a debt, so after you send in the 314.00, you will receive one final bill for the interest.
Let's say that interest on the 314.00 balance is 4.00. They will credit your payment: 310-principal, 4-interest. Balance owed-4. You should see a bill for that final amount. |

You need to pay that amount (or whatever amount they are asking for) BY the 7th of November or you will get charged a late fee. |

As well as the late fee you'll also start to be charged interest at whatever exorbitant rate they've fixed - double whammy |

They need to receive the payment by that date. If you pay by sending a cheque in the mail, allow plenty of time for it to be delivered. |

yes, u have to give them a little time |

You need to have the payment to them before or on the due date. If you send it on the 7th, you could get a late fee. I usually try to send payments for bills in early to avoid this issue. |

It depends on your credit cards policy. If I pay my payment online before 5pm they consider it on time. Some companies have an earlier deadline. Either way, if you are a good standing customer you can usually call the Credit Card Company and ask them to waive your late fee. Tell them you will cancel your card and open a new one with someone else who will value your business...If you pay late all the time, well then you may have to pay a late fee.
Hope this helps, |

not if you pay in full before that date. paying on that date will make your payment late and you can incur late charges as well as interest. |

Credit cards work like a short term interest free loan. As long as you repay the debt before the end of the grace period ( usually 28-31 days - it should tell you how many days on your paperwork ) there is no interest and no penalty.
You will definately avoid interest and fees if you pay by November 7. There is a chance you could go beyond that depending on when the charges were made. For example if you charged $50 on November 1, then that portion of the payment doesn't have to be there on November 7 yet - remember you have that grace period from the time of the charge.
But it's easier to pay it off by the date indicated - this way there is no chance of error.
But remember the payment has to be in their hands on or before November 7. So mailing on November 7 doesn't count. You need to send it prior to November 7 to make sure it gets there before November 7.

it either goes through on or before the 7th of november or you get charged a late fee which is about 12.00 |

No, your payment must go through that day. If it goes through the next day or later it will be late. |

I imagine it says somewhere on the statement that payment must be received by the date. Not sent. They will love to penalise you if you pay late. It's what they exist for. |

Yes, you'll pay interest on the whole amount outstanding.
Look on the back of your statement, it will give cutoff dates for paying online, by phone or post. |

It usually takes 24 hours to process. I would pay as much as you can as soon as possible, and do it online. That's usually the quickest and most convenient way. |

honey, why bother going through what ur not sure? just pay it 1 day before so u dun get charged! when they say pay it by Nov 7th thats if they recieve it by Nov 7th. the visa company might be in another city and they might not get it on time and u'll get charged. u could also pay it online on Nov 7th. that will count. |
