They are charging interest on your unpaid balance. Yes that is legal, you still need to pay them off. Yes they can tell people what you owe and if you are or aren't paying

If you don't pay your monthly minimum, they will stick it to you on finance and late charges, making your balance go up. Do what you have to do to pay it off once and for all and stop charging!!! It's hard, but I did it! If I don't have the cash on hand to buy it, I do without!

As far as them "telling everyone", if it's reported to the credit bureau, any business can reveal what you haven't paid! It's totally legal.

Who have they told?

If you have a balance on a credit card, closing it prevents you from using it, but the balance on the card still must be paid. It accrues interest every month especially if you did not pay the month before. There are also late fees that are tacked on to the minimum amount balance that was not paid as it continues from month to month. Closing an account does not mean you do not have to pay them back.

Any company you applied for credit as well as auto insurance will check your credit history, and it is perfectly legal for them to see it. Not just anyone can see it, only those people that you filed an application granting them permission to look into your credit history. This is all legal.

You should make a payment plan with your credit company because this does not go away.

So you closed the account with a balance of 563.00 and now it's up to 800. You don't mention when you closed the account or if your making payments.

At a minimum they are still charging you interest. Sounds like they might have up the interest rate as well. Get it paid off before they rip you off even more.

You might even want to call them a demand some sort of settlement since they are breaking the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. Threaten to report them to the FTC.

if u don't make payments it goes up, and fast.

quit answering your phone, write a validation letter, and
a cease and desist letter, and tell them all telephone
conversations are now being recorded and they can
not talk to anyone other then yourself, to do so you can
sue them back 1000.00 for every FCRA Violation
they break. So who are they telling, will they validate
that so you can sue them back.

Maybe someone other than you knows your credit card number and they might be using it. call the company and ask them to send a copy of the statement. and if there are any unautorized transactions, then u r leagally not held responsible to pay for it. u need to file a complaint and usually they can prove it. lets say they made a purchase from some store, most stores have security cameras and u can prove that u werent there, and if u were doing something else like if you were at a meeting, and like 20 other ppl saw u there, then that would help too.
