Need advice to settle this because i don't want to go to court(work every week day or they find some body that can work)

here is a little known fact.

show up in court, they will not be there but will request a "telephone hearing" you can challenge them by requesting to see the original documents with your signature. Collection lawyers do not have the original documents just your information on a computer printout. The case is dismissed and that will be the last you hear of them.

Is the debt past the statue of limitations? In Florida the SoL is 4 years from date of last activity.

If it's been 4 or more years since you've made a charge or payment on this account, you have an affirmative defense that you can enter with the courts and the case will be dismissed.

IN WRITING ONLY send them a RRR letter offering 500 in a lump sum to be paid on such and such date once you receive a confirmation letter agreeing to the offer.

DO NOT PAY ONE DIME until you get the letter back accepting the offer then send them a money order along with a copy of the letter.

Stay OFF the phone PERIOD.

IF you should get a call and listen long enough for them to make an offer, ask them to send it in writing and DO NOT give them a poste dated check or check of any kind.

You should be able to call the law firm and settle outside of court.

Do you owe them the money? Have you stopped making monthly payments? If the answers are yes, then what is your problem? PAY THEM!
Most likely they would settle for monthly payments unless you already have a record of not making payments on time.
Going to court is not only going to cost you the $900, but also THEIR attorney's fees (could easily be another $200 or more) and all the court costs-their filing fees, mailing fees from the court clerk, penalties by the court...you could end up having to pay $1400 or more!
A letter from their lawyer is NOT a court summons-the COURT has to send you a certified or registered letter-a copy of the complaint they would file with the court clerk to 'sue' you. So if you haven't gotten that yet-what their lawyers did was to send you one last chance to call them and work it out BEFORE they go and file in court.
So call them!

Ted
Trial costs are expensive. They don't want to go to court either. The will withdraw the case if you give them some other way to get their money. Call them now and agree to a payment plan if you can't pay it all at once. Avoid getting a formal judgment.

boo yaka sha!
ring the credit card company if you are able to settle it then you should have paid it before

lack of communication makes things so much worse

When you go to court, all they will do is work out a settlement plan. They've already filed the judgement against you. It will hurt your credit, but credit isn't the end-all be-all of life. Call the law office that notified you and see if a settlement without going to court is still possible, just for the sake of your time. When it happened to me, I didnt incur any extra fees, but your creditor may be different.

Call the local united way and tell them the situation. they can give you numbers of free consumer credit agencies that can help you out tremendously..
don't sit by and take this crap from the credit card companies. there are lots of options for you out there.

well you should just pay them that,or they should drop it because it well probably cost more the $900 to get the $900.
in my opion credit card sucks because they charge more them what you spend. all they are is a waste of money so pay the money then cancel your account. but what do i know I'm only a 15 years kid sitting in class anwser yahoo answers
