Hi - there are a lot of adverts on the TV at the moment about reducing your debt in various ways, the best one to contact (I think) is Debt Free Direct. They DONT offer a loan to cover debts (such a stupid idea but there you go!) Instead they give you advice on freezing your debt (as has been previously mentioned) and, in some cases, writing off debt altogether. Their tel number is 08000 93 81 76 and their web address is debtfreedirect.tv
Good luck, and good on you for realising your money probelm and wanting to tackle it. So many people shy away from their responsibilities now a days xx
Edit: PS Ignore the guy above me 'thecoldvoiceofreason', theres help available for everyone if they want to take it. |

speak to the credit card companies and work out a reduced payment scheme until you get back into work. most will be happy to help and some will even stop the interest. good luck |

as long as you pay creditors bare minimum say £5 each per month a court of law wont touch the case contact them all and explain your finances be honest with them and get the interest frozen it will take a long time to pay off debts but bottom line is you borrowed you have obligation to pay back the way to then look at it is if interest is frozen you are getting interest free credit if you come into money at any time offer creditors say 50 or60% of debt most will except that good luck mate |

By far the best advice you can receive when struggling with debt is to take advice. There are a number of organisations that offer free advice and in a confidential capacity. Most of the worry will be taken away once you have spoken to an advisor. |

Call the consumer credit counselling service. Its a registered charity who not only offer excellent advice but will also contact creditors on your behalf and organise a debt mamangment plan or IVA etc. They are really friendly and undestanding and have helped me no end. |

Write to all creditors or get Citizens Advice Bureau to do it and ask them to freeze the debt so that you are not paying interest. You will eventually pay off the debts but it will take a while. |

There is a law that can write off some of your debts and if you go to the Citizen's Advice or email them they can help you with this, don't go to one of the agencies advertised on the TV and the net, it could make matters worse. |

Just file for bankruptcy and get a fresh start. Once you are out of debt. Find a job and live withing your income. Never charge anything you cannot afford to pay for. Shop around when you buy anything. Do not spend any money on the things you don't need. You should be back on track within a year. |

We have just come back from living abroad after many years and find it hard to get credit as no credit history is worse than having a bad credit history! |
