By law, you are entitled to a honest and true FREE credit report annualy. You can get it at www.annualcreditreport.com
Anything above 700 is excellent, and the national average is about 675. |

Sarah is right to a point. You can obtain your credit report from all three reporting agencies at the web site she lists, but you will have to pay for your fico score. No one gives that for free. |

since you don't know anything about credit, that probably explains a lot of your low score. your credit score ranges from 350-850. The higher the number, the better your credit is. Its a measure of your debt, how you manage your accounts, if you pay your bills on time, etc. so many things are put into the credit score, but it really adds up to one thing...Pay your bills on time and keep your unsecured debt low....your score will raise... |

There are credit check websites out there. Most of them do cost money.
Any time someone else checks your credit (like when buying or leasing a house or car), they are required to give you a copy of the report. |

go to www.annualcreditreport.com everyone in the country is now in-titled to one free credit report from each of the three bureaus once a year. If you want to see your credit score you will still have to pay, the report itself is free. |

Most credit monitoring services offer a free trial that will give you your credit score. You have to remember to cancel the service or else your credit card will be charged a monthly service fee.

You can often get a report for free if you get rejected for credit somehow but last time I checked (not recently) they didn't give you the score for free. The score is called FICO score so you may want to search on that. |

630 is the least credit score you can have and not need a co-signer to finance the purchase of a car from "reputable" car dealerships...
Also, the same for "house" purchases...
