A couple of late payments isn't going to be a problem. They will be looking for prior history of bankruptcy or seriously bad credit history that could make you a security risk if hired.
Here is some more info regarding this...

No, they look for insolvency and very bad debts. They done this to me in my current job and despite being hopeless at paying up debts i still got the job.

You fail to say exactly what the job is but im sure that as long as the payments were no longer than 30 days late then you will be fine. They will look for ccj against you though. Good luck |

Hi 48,
Have you applied for a bank job a lot of my friends have been credit checked for bank roles.
Not sure if a few missed payments would really bother them.
I have known people be turned down though with ccj's defaults and debt manangement. so you will have to wait and see.
Good luck x |

They are looking for possible credit worthiness/risk.
Someone who has multiple accounts in collection may get distracted or interrupted by collection calls at work and they want to avoid that production fall.
I was upfront when my previous employer (a bank) told me they were going to run a credit report. I submitted a letter explaining why I had filed for bankruptcy and the HR director added it to the file. I ended up getting the job based on my experience and my forwardness about my credit problems.
I said that I didn't feel a credit number reflected who I was as a person. Situations arise and we have to handle them the best we can. I said I was looking for an employer who could understand my situation and look past my credit issues as I get back on my financial feet.
Missing one or two payments is not going to jeopardize your possible employment. I think it's to weed out someone with maybe gambling issues or something like that.
Good luck on the job, but don't fret if it doesn't work out - it wasn't meant to be. Something WILL come along. |

It depends on the company - some look at average FICO scores across the big 3 credit agencies, others look for "big things", like a bankruptcy, defaults and many dont even look too deep, just a requirement for HR.
I had a student loan default - Ill save you the gory details, but still was bonded and become a licensed broker and since have had 5 jobs where it never effected me.
Good luck, dont be too bummed out - it all may work out in the end. And a few missed credit card payments is nothing... |

Is it a bank job? At the end of the day, if your right for the job you can talk your way around this. Basically, they are looking to see if you have been BANKRUPT. |

They will check your address and see whether you have ever been red flagged for fraud. They will also make sure that you have no bad debt. These are debts which you havent paid back.
Being late on your credit card payments will not show up if they have not been passed to a debt recovery agency.
You should be fine. Good luck x |
