i owe some money to a credit company if they dont find me for six years is it true the debt is normally wrote off? and when its wrote off is the bad debt also took off your credit record? |

They may or may not write it off but it will be an even blacker mark against your credit score.
It also depends on which country you are in as legislation differs. |

its not six years since you failed to pay the debt BUT for six years its kept on record if a ccj (county court judgement)is issued against you ,the six years starts from the date of the ccj being recorded, and in certain cases this remains on your credit file,you can get a credit report from a firm like experian, on-line to check your status. |

That would depend upon your states statute of limitations regarding debt. Each state varies from as little as 3 years to 20 years or indefinite.
Use this link to find your states laws.
http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/SOL-by-State.html
However, if they can prove you moved out of state to avoid collections, then the statute of limitations is tolled (re-dated) and can come after you for wage garnishment or even place a lien on your property.
As to your credit report, here are the limits.
The credit bureaus keep your personal credit history for periods between 7 and 10 years:
Unpaid Tax Lien - Indefinitely
Chapter 7 Bankruptcies - 10 years from date filed.
Public Records - 7 years from the date of payment;
Closed or Inactive Accounts - 10 years from the date of last activity;
Derogatory Accounts - 7 years from the date of original delinquency;
Hope this answers your question. |

I think you are talking about the Limitation Act, which clearly states that, for consumer debt, provided that a debtor has made no payments towards, nor acknowledged, in writing, a debt for a period of six years, then that debt becomes 'statute barred' and, providing the debtor tells the original creditor, or a debt collection agency, that he/she will not pay the debt because it is statute barred, then the creditor, or his agents, can no longer pursue that debt, through the courts. |

Try find a way to pay then back because it is not every day u can hide for. One day to come is then right at your foot. What r u going to do, run do not bother think of that. So the best way is to pay then back and forget about the disrespect and the treatment that u r going to receive when they catch u. |
