Breaking News | Credit score on first date what's up with this chick? |
Last weekend I went on a date and the chick asked me about my credit score which was very odd . What do you think she would asked for my credit score? Is she trying to figure out if i'm ok for a second date? |

I had to give that a star and a chuckle because I not only found it interesting, but entertaining as well. I agree that it's pretty odd for someone to flat out ask you something like that. If it were me, I would've said, that it's "above average", and left it at that. Chances are, she probably was checking to see if you were "financially viable" enough for the lifestyle she has. Nonetheless, I would steer clear from someone like that. They could be sizing you up for something else. |

Maybe she wants to sell you a car. |

There could be many reasons, some good - some bad, some neutral.
Good - interested in your stability in society, responsibility level, among other things that interest her for future consideration and/or seriousness of relationship.
Neutral - has a job that takes this stuff into account. Some jobs make you have a certain credit rating just to stay employed there. May have had a bad experience with someone's identity being false or otherwise lied to.
Bad - gold digger, neurotic, shallow.
That's the thing - it's not AS odd as it used to be, and I wouldn't ask, but everyone's different, and does things for different reasons. I would assume it's more prevalent in cities, and less prevalent with creative people. You have to use your own radar here, and figure out which reason(s) are up - and ask questions carefully if you want to pursue the relationship. |

She is looking for a sugar daddy. She wants someone to take care of her so she can stay at home and eat bon bon's all day, then when you come home take her out to eat. Oh yea don't forget to higher a maid because she will be to busy shopping. |

She's a gold digger. |

Dude, ditch her. Regardless of what others have said about this in regards to her wanting to know if you are responsible, it sounds more like she's looking for a sugar daddy, maybe a cosigner, either way. dump her!!!! |

I went through this same thing with my present girlfriend, AFTER we'd been dating a while. She's trying to figure out if you have similar values where money is concerned- basically to understand if you're financially compatible. If she's a responsible person with a good credit rating, she's not going to want to marry someone with a lot of debt, or who is careless with their money. I disagree with the person who says she is a gold digger. Money (or lack thereof) is one of the top three things that cause a relationship to fail, after all. She is very premature in asking you on the first date, however. |

Some women are interested in your bank account before they will approve of you as a mate. Sad but true, this one sounds like she could be very pushey and manipulative. I'd walk away from a second date if I were you. If you have good credit, the first thing she will do is push marriage, get knocked up to trap you, make you get rid of your toys, sell your car and buy a minivan, get fat, cut her hair a half inch short and become a demanding witch. |

When I was single and dating, I used to ask about credit score. When it got serious with one guy, I actually checked his credit to make sure the relationship could go forward. Does it sound crazy? I guess having good credit is important to her. I dont think there is anything wrong with that. |

your credit score tells alot about you - while I think it's pretty brash and rude, she's letting you know that she's not interested in dating someone who can't pay their bills -
BTW, did you tell her, or did you ask her what her credit score was?
I think that it's a good idea to date someone with the same values as you, but I think there are better ways to find out - and I think the first date is a bit soon in the process.
This tells you that she's very brazen, so you need to decide if you want to have someone that up-front - I wouldn't - I think there are too many other reasons for a credit score to go south and wouldn't cull someone so quickly without learning more about them. |
