I actually work in pnc bank fraud center, however you anre not responible to pay nething at all to get your monmey ur are garenteed by the banks nd federal law up to a certian amount of money this is a constin on going issue known nation wide and over seas, i reccomen tht for your internet sign on that you change it from ur pin being ur password to letters number its harder to crack. Also check all atm machiens before inserting your debit card rub ur finger across the the insertdebit reader for a film or paper there is a tact called white sleaving that peopl are doing which will actually be a carbon paper that copies your debit numbers Camer phones are also being use to capture your pin number.. also while writtng checks i advise that you oly use the last four digits of the account number ur payin the credit car issuer knows ur account from the last four digits of your account no one else will ahve the same last 4 numbers

You should immediately contact your bank regarding such transactions. For the ATM withdrawal, you will have to fill out what is know as a Reg E dispute form. They must give you provisional credit for that amount until they can verify that the transaction was indeed fraudulent. For the check withdrawal, you will want to dispute the check with the bank. They may have a specific form for that, but they are generally liable and will give you the money back. You will want to close that checking account, since the number is out in circulation. If the bank gives you a hard time, you can file a dispute with your state's department of banking, which will enforce the rules. The Reg E complaint is a federal regulation, the check withdrawal is also not your responsibility, but that of the person who deposited the check, or the bank that cashed it, since they are suppose to verify the identity of the person prior to accepting any check.

I suggest you to cancel your checking account and move to another bank.

You need to go to the Police and file a Report. They will send all the information to the Chicago Police.

I suggest you to buy Identity Theft Insurance.

If you don't have a business you don't need a checking account.

Start using disposable Debit Cards. They cost just $5

You can get it all back. Talk to your bank, they may charge a fee, but usually not. I also suggest that you file a police report and attach a bank statement showing the debits, etc. This will help police prosecute the offender as well. That is actually extremely common.

talk to somebody at your bank, and tell them what happened. They would be able to help you more than anybody here could.

You are liable up to $50, just like a credit card (but it's possible for it to be waved). Be wary of using your debit card or credit cards to by common goods, because such thefts are often inside jobs by the cashiers.

sandee74764
It's called identity theft and you are not responsible for any of it you need to contact the local law agency and make a police report

squeaky2435
You should contact your bank and dispute it. I'm going through the same thing except they are using my debit card number on the internet. My bank issued a refund withthin 24 hours, and cancelled my old card number. But what puzzles me is how do they get your info and be miles away.
