If your card has the Visa or Mastercard logo on it then it can be used just like a credit card as long as you have the funds in your bank account. |

Yes, you can use it just like a credit card. Only difference with the debit card is the money is coming from your bank account. |

A debit card can be rang up as a credit card, but the money is automatically debited from your account, not billed to you, like a credit card would be. |

Yes the transaction will be processed as a credit. A debit card can easily be used as a credit card most of the time unless it is a debit only or ATM card. If it is signed by Visa or another credit card agency it is usable as a credit card. |

A debit card that has a Visa or Mastercard logo can be used as a debit (PIN required) or credit (signature required) card. Either way, the payment is taken directly from your checking account. If you don't have the money in your account, your bank will charge you an insufficient funds fee, usually $30-$40.
A debit transaction happens immediately, while a credit transaction is not taken from your account until the business runs an "end of day" on their credit card machine, which can sometimes be several days later. |

Yes, you can use it that way.
If you go to a store and use it, choose to use it as a credit card and sign the receipt. If you choose to use it as a debit card and enter your PIN, your bank can charge you a fee like at an ATM. If the store processes it like a credit card, the store pays the fee like any other credit card transaction.
Don't forget to keep track of what you spend because it will make withdrawals from your bank account automatically! (DUH!!!) |

yes... but debit card takes money directly from your checking account, while a creidt card is just that, credit... |

Yes - but it is a debit card, not a credit card.
You MUST have funds in your account to cover the purchases just like you were writing a check. Record the debit card purchases in your check register, too.
If it were a credit card, you would need to have available credit on your account. This is the difference between what you have already charged (and not paid off) and your credit limit.
Sounds like you are just getting started, so go carefully.
Overdrafts on your debit card may be processed by your bank. Meaning they will approve the transaction as though you had the funds available, charge you their overdraft fee (probably around $35 per transaction), and then deduct the fee and the overdraft from your account putting you even further in the hole. And oh by the way, by the time you figure out what's going on, you've already given the bank your next paycheck in fees. |

yea. debit just refers to a pin you have to access your account. most places charge you to use debit. always choose credit. it comes out of the same account but doesnt cost you anything except your purchase cost. no extra fees!! |

yes you can, just a debit card subtracts the cost of the item from the amount on your card, but a credit card sort of makes a list of everything youve spent then adds it all up. a debit cards sort of like a pre paid phone, where you can run out of credit, but a credit cards a bit like a plan, where you can keep spending as long as you pay for it! |

I think so. |

No, debit connects to your checking account. A credit card is different. You pay it off with money (presumably) from your checking account, but it doesn't come directly from your checking account. NOT the same!!! |
