It will depend if they sold the debt or just assigned it but you would do better asking BOA then us. |

Most likely not. Once a collection agency buys a debt, they own it and the bank has written it off as a loss. You will have to deal with the collection agency to settle it. |

have you been paying on it or did you just let it go? If you let it go then the collection agency bought it from BOA for mere cents on the dollar. You can negotiate with the collection agency for 50% of the debt or sometimes 25% and you will have a legally paid for less than the full balance on your credit report. Which isn't as bad as charge off, etc |

It would be up to the bank itself. Actually, you do not owe the collection agency, just the bank. But they will hound you for years to come. Why don't you call the bank to see what they will do. Good luck.....you are just in the same boat that alot of the country is in themsevles. It is really hard making ends meet with all the high prices . |

nope. you are now dealing with the collection agency. Bank of America wrote your account off as bad debt and sold it to a collections company. Legally they must do this after a certain period of time. |

they sold your debt to a debt collectors. your best bet is to either pay your debt, go to a debt counselor, or debt settlement |
