If you pay with cash, you can actually see how much your spending and know how much money you have left. With a credit card you don't really ask yourself "Do I have enough money for this?" It's almost like invisible money. The limit of funds doesn't come into question when using a credit card. |

Obviously credit or our country would not be where it is today. That's why our banks are failing; people are not making good on their loans (i.e. credit). Banks loaned out money believing they would be getting it back in - and they aren't. And you end up paying as much as 30% more sometimes on credit cards - you have to read the fine print on those. |

More and more Americans are spending with credit every year. However, with the current economy collapse, causing banks to go under by the truckload, many people are switching back to cash. |

yes. credit cards are magical so you usually go over what you intend to spend.. but if you have a certain amount of cash in your wallet, you usually stay within budget, since you can actually physically see the money and then see it being given away |

Definitely on credit cards, that is why so many Americans are in deep debt and why our country is in such national debt |

it might be true and americans spend more w/ credit cards prob because they give you more than you have in an instant and people can't control themselves and you can't blame them because that spending power is awesome |

LOTS use credit cards, but it's the people who are smart with their money, live within their means and of course have at least a decent job, who get ahead, they don't end up hurting their credit so when it's time to buy something that they really want like a house, or a new car, they are approved with the best interest rate... |

I don't have the sources but you can search for the study. I read it a month or two ago.
Personal experience confirms most people realize what they are spending more accurately when they have to peel off the bills. |

Spend more on credit cards. They don't charge you int-rest and finance charges on cash. |
