It depends who you are paying with the check card. There are some businesses that are more careful about verifying ID and some that just take payment no matter who you are. |

It all depends on the financial institution and on the businesses themselves. I had my cards stolen and I was told by my financial institution that it is not required to ID anyone due to that They will reimburse me due to fraud protection. Clearly an investigation will be conducted but To answer your question no not all check cards require a driver's License number. |

If they can't read the signature on the back, if it isn't signed or if you're making a large purchase, the vendor/company is certainly allowed to ask to see a picture ID.
In fact, I don't sign the back of my check cards so that they WILL ask to see ID. If my purse/wallet is ever stolen, I want to make sure the thief can't use my card. |

I have never been asked to show my drivers license when using my check card. when used as POS,point of sale, transaction as a debit card I must use my pin number and my financial institution will apply a service charge. If I use the card as a credit then no pin number is required and my financial institution will not assess a service charge. It would be best to check with your bank about service charges. It's a good idea to take a receipt for your purchase and record it in your check book register asap. In my check book I put a check mark where the number would go to indicate a check card purchase. vigillance here will prevent going below your check book balance. Good Luck! nope, not when you use them at a store, if that's what you mean. You can run them as credit or debit, and if you use debit, you will have a pin number just like an atm card |

Some places do some don't. most don't with small things. if you use debit it's like an atm you just use password. with the charge option some stores ask for ID if you didnt sign the back. you shouldnt sign the back though |
