I would keep the card, transfer some of the high interest balance to it, and try to keep your overall and individual credit util about the same. |

Hopefully you didn't include the information about the first card when you applied for the replacement.
You can cancel the card. It shouldn't adversely affect your credit rating much. It is getting harder to find 0% for X months cards lately.
You may be able to call your credit card company and ask for a lower rate. If they know they are going to lose you, it is possible. Your payment history has to have been good for them to consider it, tho'.
Check out a local credit union. Mine has a 9.9% rate. Generally credit unions beat banks on rates for loans and savings accounts. A "community" credit union is open to all residents in the area. |
