I agree, you should have received something that told you that you were approved or not, and if not, what CRA they pulled so you would be allowed to order your free credit report based on the denial.
Robert Johnson, BET founder and former owner, opened Urban Trust Bank, that is the bank that backs Salute Visa.
I found contact info, by clicking on the Maryland branch, when going to the BBB, which follows:

(I would suggest that you go to the BBB site for confirmation of the address - since you have no idea who I am and you would be sending your info to this address)
Write them and tell them that you applied and have received nothing back, saying either approved or not, in the last three months. Also state that you have called numerous times and the CSR's are extremely unhelpful in not clearing this up for you. And that you have found the contact info from the BBB site since the CSR's would not give it to you.
(you might also go to the BBB site and file a complaint) |

Actually, I received an invitation from them on April 25, 2007; was approved on the same day, and received the card May 1. It's Imagine that I haven't been able to get in touch with. |

If they can't/won't give an address, they are a scam. I'm surprised they have a working phone number. |

I applied for the salute credit card.got it sent 20.00 in got card activated.my first bill was 130.00 due 5/13/07 they said they never got it i mailed it on 5/02/07.I called them they said they never got it and won't tell me any information.that it will go on as late if they get it.I think they are a scam to get people's money.so stay far away from those crooks.I'm glad they didn't scam you out of any money. |

I also applied for this card and was very skeptical at first. I t did take a few weeks for me to get the card but after I got it I was able to activate it as the instructions said. I have already used my card and already received my first billing statement. When you call costumer service it is very difficult to get through and when you do it seems like the reps have no clue what time of day it is. Also, once you receive your card you can log on to their web site and establish an on-line acct with them to view your transactions, pay your bill etc. |

I have a salute card and so far I haven't had any problems(knock on wood)...I admit the fees are a little high, but that is the price you pay for having bad credit or no credit at all...If you are looking to rebuild your credit it can be a good place to start...the initial fee is $150 and you are charged a $6 maintenance fee.... |

I received the card in the mail, and even went to their webiste to make a payment. Alothough I have not used the card yet, I have not had any problems as of yet. |

The same thing happened to me as it did with other people. They contacted me by mail asking for additional information, I supplied this weeks ago with no response. Maybe it's a good thing they haven't sent me out a card it sounds like a ripoff to me. |

Hi!
I have this card. Customer dis-service is horrible..just when you thought india-based accents were difficult to understand..these are even worse. I would not be surprised if they were in mexico..horrible accents...extremely hard to understand,
I had no problem getting Salute..but are having problems getting it's sister card..Imagine. You are correct..most banks don't operate like this...and it is cause for concern. |
