Do debt collectors really call you at home at 3:30 am?
My boyfriend is telling me that the private/blocked # calls on his phone at times like 3:43 am, etc. are from a collection agency trying to collect a debt. Is this true or am I being duped??
As a former collector I can tell you it is VERY illegal for them to call you before 8-9 am till 9pm . If you ask them to not call at all and they call anyway you can file a harrassment suit. But you must catch it on tape.When they call tell them the time it is and tell them you will sue next time they call.Also tell them they are being recorded for good measure. BUT
No collection agency would chance it, so hes probably screwing with you.

If they are calling him at 3:30 AM they are in violation of the law. It's called harassment and they can be charged. My guess is you are being duped and his private 3 AM calls are from another female.

by law they can only call you between the hours of 8:00 am to 9:00 pm if the call after that then they are breaking the law and can be turned in

Most debt collection places do not call at that time. Some of the more nasty ones might, but I kinda doubt it. I don't think most of them block their number either. I think you might be getting duped.
