If you really want a credit card try Capital One. They gave me one when I was already in debt. |

And then pay it how??
Addition: Capital One will bleed you dry. |

you need to prove you have an income to support the repayments.
you may get one, but at stupid interest rates and probably get a low credit limit of say £250. |

Don't get a credit card, get a debit card. It can be used as a credit card but pulls the money immediately from your checking account. You can't spend more than you have. |

I agree with all the others, however would advise you to avoid credit cards altogether.
A free overdraft from Nationwide would work out much better. |

YOU CAN APPLY, BUT YOU PROBABLY WON'T GET IT. THEY NEED TO SEE THAT YOU HAVE ENOUGH INCOME TO MAKE YOUR PAYMENTS. |

if you don't pay you're going to wreck your credit! |

I think the real question here is why you really want a credit card.
It isn't a way to spend beyond your means, you have to have to money to pay for your purchases. All a credit card does is delay the time of the payment, but if you delay it too much you end up paying more than your spending cost.
If you can't afford that, then stick with your bank debit card, that way you know you'll stay within your means.
It's the modern obsession with wanting everything NOW that has let to the huge debt crisis in Britain. people should only buy what they can comfortably afford. |

No you don`t have to be in full time employment,,you just have to show you can afford the repayments,,it will of course affect the amount the card company will allow you to spend,,it may be a s little as £200 |

no it goes on credit score |

Hmm, so how do you intend to pay back money spent on it?
The chances of anyone, even Capital One, giving you a card with anything over £250 without a job is minimal, unless you have another source of income.
Get a job, then you can run up all the debt you like. |

Steer well clear of credit cards! Why do you want one? I know it's nice to be able to buy what you want, when you want, but the interest rates are crazy! You'll be in debt before you know it and then come the sleepless nights! Man it's not worth it. Try to get a job and save up for what you want! |
