Do you have to have credit card?

No, you don't have to. But things in life are easier with credit cards.

First, things like renting a car are easier. Many car rental places will perform a credit check to determine if you are worthy of renting if you pay with a debit card (or cash).

If you use a debit card to check into a hotel or to rent a car, a temporary 'hold' is placed on your account for an arbitrary amount (normally a couple hundred) so even though you don't owe the money yet, you can't get to it. I've used my debit card to check in to a hotel and paid cash when I checked out and I still couldn't get to the money that was being 'held' for a few days.

The biggest reason to have a credit card is to build a history of using revolving debt. Revolving debt makes up a large part of your credit score. If you ever plan on financing any large purchases in your life (car, house), you want good credit.

(Note: if you won't pay the bill on time or if you are going to run up a balance and pay a lot of interest, don't get a credit card.)

If you want a credit card but have no or bad credit, a secured card is a good choice. Pick one with no or low fees. Bankrate.com has a good list: http://bankrate.com/brm/rate/cc_ratehome.asp?web=brm&state=US&prodtype=cc&R1=1&card_type=Secured&card_class=All&max_recs=50

No - you can have a debit card if you really want to carry plastic instead of cash.

No I don,t have a credit card too much of a headache

no,but it helps your credit score..

Not necessarily. But if you feel like owning one then maybe you can maintain just one credit card. You will just be tempted to have unnecessary purchases if you have many. And avoid having cash advances and small purchases. Its good to have a credit card if you wont allow it to manipulate you instead of you controlling it.

the only reason you would need a credit card is if you want to rent a car. You could use a debit card but theyll take the deposit money out right away like ($300) where as a credit card they just run it to make sure its good then they charge you when you bring the car back. Its not a good idea to uses your credit cards unless you can pay them off every month.

no, you don't have to have a credit card, but they are handy when there is an emergency. What if someone in the family became ill and you had to go to a city where they lived. If you don't have a big checking acct, how else would you pay for the trip? Life doesn't revolve around paydays, so it's best to have something else to turn to when in need.

"Yes, its good to have a credit card. It helps in need of money, instead of asking your colleagues, relatives in time of need, you can use the plastic card.

Go for a rewards Credit Card:

Reward credit cards reward you when you spend on the credit card. Normally, you can collect rewards through 3 ways.

* It involves earning cash back on the card, it depends on the amount you spend.
* Next one involves giving points to the customers. They can be redeemed for gifts like cosmetics, shoes, water heater, mobiles and other goodies which the credit card company offers.
* The last method of reward is providing airmiles. Airmiles are highly popular reward, as many customers like to redeem them for free flights or flight upgrades. Whatever type of reward credit card you opt for, carefully note the amount or rate at which rewards will accrue and also read carefully other terms and conditions.
