Yeah the Visa Gift Card is basically a credit card, with a limit that you can't go over, and no bill because you pay to put money on it when you buy it. |

The Visa gift card is more like a debit card than a credit card. The reason is because you will not get a bill from Visa for what you spend on it. Visa gift cards have preset amounts already on them and you can't spend over what is already on the card, so it is not like a credit card, but a debit card. hope that helps. |

A visa gift card as far as I know is a reloadable credit card. It can be used online or in stores to purchase things like a normal credit card and you must sign for whatever you have bought after the purchase is complete. If you are purchasing something that would cost 100 dollars and you only have 60 dollars left on the card you pay the difference with cash or a debit card. I'm not sure if there is a monthly fee for the visa ones (probably) but I know with the mastercard gift cards for every month you have it activated you must pay a monthly fee of 2.50. There is also an activation fee. |

No, it's nothing of the sort. A gift card is prepaid, so it has a set amount of money in it. A credit card, on the other hand, is something you sign a contract for. With a credit card, you charge and pay the bills later. |

yes, but it has a limit - whatever someone put on the card |

NO they do not act the same. And do not follow links here to get around the rules. The credit card is their way of taking payment, and the credit card company lets you borrow money at a huge interest rate. The gift type let people order online or give gifts that arent cash. You will not be able to make the purchase, and the gift card company will not refund you cash for the card you bought and neither will the store that sold it to you. |

yeah, it's like a prepaid credit card. whatever amount is has, that is how much you can spend with it. once is reach it's limit, you can throw it away..so in away, it's like a disposable credit card or something like that |

then you have to let the cashier know the amount you have on the gift card, if it's less than what your total comes out to be ... |

yes, you have to sign when you use it
also you need to always know your balance because sometimes you have to tell the cashier the balance so she can punch that in. |

No you can not.
It's like a 'gift card' and used as a gift card. You can't use it as a credit card for that store. Your visa gift card is rechargeable. Depending on the store and how they enter it in their system. I'm pretty sure Apple requires a REAL credit card, that would have allowed a person of age or obtain one.
Sorry. |

ya my sister got one for some mall and when she gave it to the cashier they made her sign a slip of paper. just like a REAL credit card! lol |
