go to a hardware store or big department store to start up a good credit..use it once per month for over a year and each time pay off 80%, then all of a sudden pay it all off. let it go for a month or two then use it again..using it and paying it off (and yes, paying a bit of interest) is all part of building a credit rating. good luck! |

DON'T!
Help her as best you can, direct her to a credit councellor, etc... But do NOT obtain credit in order to borrow money to bail HER out!
If you do this, she will come to see you as the person that can pay her debts, without seeing that it WILL destroy your ability to obtain credit AT ALL...
Have you ever wanted to own a home? Live anywhere but your parent's basement for the rest of your life?
Sorry to sound harsh, but if you ruin your credit rating to bail someone else out, you will loose your ability to rent an appartment, obtain a loan/mortgage without paying crippling interest rates, etc...
If you absolutely have to, offer to help her with a place to stay for a couple of weeks if that's what she needs, but she has to stand on her own feet, so she can respect herslf, and so you can keep your respect for her!
EDIT:
I don't know about where you live, but here in Canada Capitol One has a VERY bad reputation, and that their rep in the US is much better, but they still have issues. |

do a search on the interent for prepaid or secured credit cards. You can sent the like 300.00 and they hold the money like in a bank account and anything you purchase comes from that. It is a good way to get established and build your credit. |

save your money and open an emergancy account. This is much safer. If you get into credit debt and start having your own financial problems you cant help her. AVOID CREDIT DEBT. |

hi..your friend would be eligible for credit as long as she is registered at a permant address for 3 yrs..usually without ccj's or default's. there is a credit card from capital one called the credit status builder but has a low limit usually of about £200. keep up yer paymnets on time and this will improve your chances of getting credit in the future :) |
