If you live at an address for a number of years, and the last owners have taken a personal loan out and they have given the address that you are now living at,they haven't kept the loan up to date, the loan company starts sending you letters, you tell them they no longer live here.Does it effect your credit, because the loan was taken out on the address. |

hi...it will not affect your credit as such but you may want to check your credit file as you said because it is in your address....if it is showing you can write to the credit reference agency and get them to mark a financial disassocistion notice on your file....that should only be the case if the electoral role has not been updated. |

only if your surname is the same, and even then you can get a note added to show you are a different M Smith.
it used to, but not for years now has there been an address blacklist. |

It should not have anything to do with you. The loan would be in that person's name and have their ID and social security number. The address really has nothing to do with it, other than the fact they are bugging you. |

I work in the financial sector and see this all the time. Unfortunatley it can effect you, best bet is to get onto the company to advise them of this the may require it in writing. If you dont have any luck with the company you can always contact the Financial ombussman. They should be able to help.
Once you know this has been settled with the company then apply for your equafax report. This a detailed list of your credit file. It lists all things applied for under your address and under your name. You can then follow the instructions to remove these from your credit file. You can apply online for this or post a cheuque or postal order to them for a small fee of £3.50 approx (not sure how much on line). |

It should not effect your credit, since the loan is not yours. You should go in person to the bank if you can, since letters can be fowarded to you by identity thieves. In order for a creditor to destroy your credit they must have your personal identification, including your social security number, and such. Still, it is best if you contact the people, rather than just let it slide. Typically, these folks just need to know that the folks are no longer there, or left no fowarding address. Another thing to do, is to go to the post office, and make them return the letter. |

it would not hurt your credit but if the loan company can put a lien on your property you will have to remove that loan before you could takeout a home loan or try to sell it you need to contact the loan place and get this straightened out and call the states attorney and tell them what is going on here |

No, because you did not take the loan out. |

It used to affect you as searches would be done on your own credit and the address's credit history. Bu they've changed it now so they only do a check on your own personal credit history, so no, it won't affect. |

It wouldn't affect your credit, it goes on the loans applicant, they have their social security number and report 'them' for whatever reason. Don't worry about those letters, simply continue to write MOVED and throw them back into the mailbox. |

it shouldnt do if you contact the people who the loan is based with and tell them, but if you leave it too long then yes it can. |

Credit goes to the person(s) who signed the loan papers. If your name and SS number isn't on the loan paperwork, nothing will happen to you. |

No it has nothing to do with you. My only question is do you own your place? If so then there may be something to be concerned with because your title could be in dispute. If you are renting then there is nothing you should worry about. Unless the previous owner is your land lord and the bank is going to repossess your apartment. |

Its supposed to affect the person who took out the loan, not the address |
|

it can affect the address better get in touch with the company and put them straight. |
