Apparently, you open a bank account, don't pay the credit card companies for 3-4 months but send payments to your account to build up enough money for them to bargain with the credit card companies to reduce your debt.

Ok they will help you make your payments. But some of those payments will still be counted as late and will not go towards making your credit report better. IN fact your credit report may stay in its current state of badness. Its something to be aware of. |

they destroy your credit and even then they aren't very successful at decreasing your debt and can't fix your credit. plus their fees are huge for the little that they actually do. |

You're better off doing it yourself.
A friend, who had a lot of debt, but no late payments, used one of those companies to get her payments lowered. Her payments were lowered but they never paid anything on time and she was responsible for the late fees. |

u have to be careful with those companies b/c it can go on ur credit report as late or a charge off! which will hurt more. find a financial counselor n ur area that can help u elimate debt. see if ur bank or credit union offers one! do no use one of these companies unless u really want to! |

they actually do more harm than good....when compamies see you used a credit agency they are less likely to loan based on the fact that you have shown you cant handle credit without help from these guys....its better to file BK in some instances |
