you can buy some credit cards for about $250 or so. You can build up your credit from there. You HAVE to pay things off every month.. DON'T FORGET!

No one needs credit. Buy what you need with cash that's what your parents did. There are only two reasons to use credit and that is to buy a house and a new car, and these two things will be used as collateral. Why can't anyone see that this credit machine is not working. Just save for what you want and pay cash only!!!!

Do I take it the majority of q&A's come from the US? Things are a little different in the UK. Credit is literally thrown at everyone here! Hardly surprising bankruptcy is rising. I would advise you to try and obtain a credit card and use it sensibly. ie keep within your limit and pay it off monthly. In the UK Capital One offer a credit card for those with poor or no credit history. Don't know if that is any help. My advice if you need to buy something though is to save up. It's not alway that simple though. Good luck.xxx

you cant get one. only check the one you have got

hello, there are a few things you can do. First make an appointment. with your bank. Ask about pre paid credit cards or a credit card that the banks holds a GIC or similar for one year if you don't pay they keep the bond or what have you. Always good to use card for normal day things and pay off balance of card before you get the bill or the same day, to avoid interest and late charges. Do that and every six months the card company may up your limit but becareful, the cards are easy to use and easy to get in to trouble. Good luck

The only way you get a good credit rating is by making sure all your bill payments are made on time and by their due date. This includes any mortgages you may have, catalogues and loans etc.
This information is then passed on to the companys who hold your credit file,so that any future creditors can see how you are at making payments.
When you apply for catalogues or loans this also goes on your file so if you apply to 3 or 4 different loan companys, this becomes evident on your file aswell and can sometimes go against you.

1) Pay off or reduce any loan balances as much as possible
2) Get your credit cards down to under 25% of thier limits
3) Get your report and dispute anything negative on it (If the creditors dont respond in time it will come of your report)
4) Pay off any negative items that remain on your report after the dispute
5) Stay away from getting alot of credit inquiries until you are going to do whatever you have to do
6) Do not close out any open lines of credit unless absolutely necessary until your done
If you do all these they should keep you quite busy and you will be in great shape in 3 months. Oh and pay EVERYTHING on time ALWAYS !!

find out why you cant get credit first then work from there

You have several options.

1. Secured (with money) credit card.

2. Student Credit Card--my first card gave me a 700 dollar limit with no credit. Its now 1200.

3. Ask your landlord or present utility company to report your payment history to one of these agencies...this is becoming a recent trend due to difficulty in obtaining credit along known routes.

When u do this, u can choose to pay off the balance each month or pay off at least 3 times the minimum payment each month. Whatever you do, don't max out. Please don't max out. Hope this helps.

One very fast way to get your score up is to have someone (With Good Credit) add you as an Authorized user. They do not have to give you a card just add you. The older the account the better is. Another idea is to get a "Secured Credit Card" and charge it each month and pay the balance in full. Don't pay off old accounts because they bring the account current which may be more of a negative affect instead of a positive. Go to www.homeontheranch.info and listen to the shows on-line and it may give you some additional ideas.

There's no short cut and no one can do it for you even for a fee. From today, ensure that you keep up with all your credit obligations on time. Ensure you don't get into unauthorised overdrafts or make payments late. Make payments by direct debit, if possible.

All the best.

try applying for a catalogue , buying one item and using the discount they usually give you and then pay it off, then try another account and do the same, this is the way to do it from my point of view

try opening an account with utility companies. like electric, water, cell phone bills. that should start you a credit and make sure that you always pay on time. i started on a car loan. they gave me a high interest rate, but they approved my application even if i dont have a established credit yet. i hope this helps
