Write them a letter.... include the account number and tell them you want to cancel your account. They require it in writing.

My advice is to change bank accounts. Tell the bank that you did not authorize these charges and mail the dvds that they've been sending you a letter to stop sending the automatic shipments. After 30 days of that, you are more than welcome to keep the dvds. Anything mailed to you without an agreement of payment is yours to keep. And don't worry about the many collection notices you'll receive, they don't report to the bureaus. :-) |

Go to there web site and into your account, change the bill status type so they are not direct billing you. They have a contact us area and send them an e-mail that you want to cancel. |

The bank CANNOT let them take money from you with out your permission. Go to the bank and STOP the withdrawls !!
Next go to your local "county attorney" and give him/her the phone number for columbia house and they should be able to make a call and end it further! |

First go to your bank and tell them you no longer want them to take money out of your account. Your bank will stop Columbia House from taking money out without your permission, without you having to close your account and open a new one. At CH's website you can have them send you emails about the monthly director's series. Which you click on to accept or refuse. Once you tell the bank to stop letting CH take money out of your account. I would let CH send you all the dvd's they want, mark on them refused and drop it in the mail. That's what I do when they send me dvd's I know I haven't ordered. Once I had to put a stop payment on a business that was taking money out of my account. It was a simple process with my bank. I'd stop payment then let CH send you all the dvd's they want since their paying for the shipping and it's free to write refuse and send back whatever they send. |

I went through this with them a few years ago. Try writing a letter to the address on the label. Tell them you want to cancel your subscription immediately. Of course, give them your account number, name, address, etc so they can identify your account.
In the meantime, refuse delivery of any further packages. Just write 'return to sender' and do not open the package.
Once you have written the letter (keep a copy for your files), dispute any further charges that show up on your credit card statement. The statement tells you how to do that. Your credit card issuer will probably suspend demand for payment while they investigate. If this doesn't stop the problem, nothing will. Most likely, it will cost their company around $10.00 each time you dispute the charge,
