There are more that a few lenders who specialize in credit cards for people with bad credit. You just have to look a little harder than most people have to.
And getting a card after you've had a few problems doesn't necessarily mean that you have a higher than normal rate. Like, I said, you'll just have to compare between credit lines, yearly fees, and interest percentages. Just make sure you do your homework BEFORE you commit, and you'll be fine.
You can find some offers for credit cards, both secured and unsecured here:

Orchard Bank (HSBC), Premiere, but there is an annual fee for these. Most "bad credit" credit cards have an annual fee, but it may be worth it to help reestablish your credit history. |

Many local credit unions will work with you to get you a credit card in order to build/rebuild your credit. A good friend of mine went to Safe Credit Union and they got her an unsecured card so she could start building her credit since she didn't have any credit history. |

A Credit card for people with bad credit is a form of borrowing that often involves charges. So it's wise to compare terms and fees before you agree to open a credit or charge card account. Try looking for a credit card<!--with a low APR. Find out the APR because this is the amount charged to you on monthly balances.

Are you overwhelmed with credit card offers and don’t know which one is right for you? Tired of looking for a credit card? Chances are you have received your share of credit card solicitations. Not sure-->which credit cards you should apply for? Shop around because not all credit cards for people with bad credit are created equal. |

Orchard Bank, Household Bank
Secured Credit Card <many banks offer these, Wells Fargo etc> You put down 300-5000$ to secure the card, then use it like a regular credit card. At the end of 1 year, with no late payments, or over limits, you can get your money back and get a regular card.
all will have high annual fees |

every bank is gonna need a deposit to give you a card. how much of a deposit depends on your score. You should get one and be responsible with it so you can build up your credit rating. charge just a couple bucks a month then pay it in full each month.
Before you even think about applying for a card you should get a copy of your credit report. just so you know your situation before going into it.
here is a card i found with a quick search. |

Major credit card issuers like Discover, American Express and Chase offer a credit card for bad credit holders. A 'shopping' card offers you an unsecured line of credit from specific sellers. Use these cards to increase your credit rating, since the credit bureaus will be informed about your timely payments.
Take care to ensure your credit is good by making intelligent credit choices. Keep low balances, do not be extravagant and take care to pay off your balances promptly every month. |

If you have bad credit the last thing you want is a credit card to put yourself in deeper debt.
I think you should try and repair your bad credit first before trying to get a credit card.
Here is the link you can go to and learn more about people that help you get bad credit off of your name. You can call them up and they can try and help you in what ever way they can.
