Does anyone know of any companies that will give secured credit cards to people with bad credit?

Many experts such as Consumer Reports and Card Ratings suggest the best secured credit card is the Orchard Bank Card. The Secured Orchard Bank Card reports to all 3 of the credit bureaus and has no processing or application fees. However, there is an annual fee of $35 and of course, because it is a secured card, it is not really providing you credit - that is, access to other peoples' money.

Consumer Reports decently did an expose WARNING AGAINST certain credit cards that are specially marketed to people with poor credit but which are really bad cards. STAY AWAY from:
1. First Premier's Bank's Card

2. The American Dreamcard from HSBC

3. New Millennium VISA or MASTERCARD.

MSNBC also listed all three of the above as amongst their "Worst Credit Card Deals in America".

Most banks have them. Go to the bank where you have your checking or savings account, deposit an amount of money into a savings account and ask about a secured card based on the amount you have deposited.

You can get secured as well as unsecured credit card for people with bad credit. The site below lists both of these types of credit cards. Banks are willing to give you these cards as an option for you to improve your credit. You can make regular payments and use these cards to improve your credit score. I hope this helps you!

There are quite a few out there willing to give out a secured credit card. But DO read all the fine print because that's where you can get tripped up with multiple fees, etc. There are some CU's that are flexible and might help you out or you can check out some that are online. There are cards out there for people with bad credit and people who for one reason or another haven't yet established their credit.

Good luck

I read your other responses and the best one was the orchard secured credit card.

I will come from a different angle, I know of a company that can help you with your "BAD CREDIT"

They can help you raise your FICO score and clean up negative items on all 3 of your credit bureaus.

go to: www.creditrepairforall.vpweb.com

This will be a huge benefit for you!

Have a great day!

Yes
In fact secured credit cards were created for people with bad credit.
People with good credit don't need secured credit cards.

Secured means that you give the company, say, $200 in an account with your name on it, and they give you, say , $150.00 limit.
That is the meaning of "secured". Your limit is defined by the amount of money in your account.

The companys profit off of this because the invest the cash that people keep in thier accounts in interest bearing accounts elsewhere, and also they receive interest from people like you using their "credit" cards.

Its an ok way to build credit.

No. But PLEASE read all of the teeny tiny print if you find one and before you sign up for it. A small purchase on one of those could end up costing a lot more than you bargained for. Check with your own bank or CU about secured cards or maybe a very low limit card.
